Charlotte, Vida & Molly, the new photostory by @AlbayRuela.
‘This story began when I met Molly on the Internet and we decided to meet and take some photos. I felt so good taking pictures of a beautiful woman like her, she radiated naturalness and transparency from the first moment I saw her, I was fascinated. Days after I had the opportunity to meet Charlotte and Vida. They also gave me the valuable intimacy I look for when I do portraits.’ #AlbaYruela

#IOCISONO is the new issue of @VanityFairItalia dedicated to those on the front line against coronavirus. Having published a special number dedicated to Milan and Italy, Vanity Fair continues its efforts to transmit a message of hope, strength, courage and, above all, gratitude to those who are fighting this global war against the Covid-19 virus on the Italian front line. “But don’t call these doctors, nurses, essential workers and volunteers heroes, because they themselves do not wish to be defined as such. They are professionals with an extraordinary sense of duty; workers at the very limits of their strength and possibilities. For us, they have become the reflection of an Italy which is strong and full of hope, a country that has always managed to survive the hardest of times. Their stories and their work - told in this issue of Vanity Fair - become a human account that will stay with us forever, not only during this emergency”, says Editor-in-Chief @MarchettiSimone.

@AutumndeWilde’s new retelling of ‘Emma’ - Jane Austen’s greatest anti-heroine - is now available online. The casting is definitely a stroke of genius, including @AnyaTaylorJoy as Emma, who is no stranger to period dramas - we remember for example ‘The Witch’ - and iconic @realMirandaHart, as Miss Bates, a compulsive talker who was memorably insulted on one occasion by the book’s heroine. Vogue interviewed her regarding her role in the movie and discuss how important messages on different subjects, like forgiveness, originally written by Jane Austen, are now more contemporary than ever. ALL IN THIS TOGETHER - DISCOVER the THEME of the PHOTO VOGUE FESTIVAL’s FIFTH EDITION
It’s that time of the year when #PhotoVogueFestival launches a new Open Call. However, this time, the moment coincides with an event the likes of which we have never seen before. It is possibly the first time in the social-media era that we are witnessing something as dramatic and universal, and this has – understandably – changed our perspective about the original theme for the upcoming edition of the Festival.
PVF is scheduled to take place in November, in the hope that by then we will be able to hug each other and share a physical space, and not just a virtual one.
We have decided to dedicate the Festival’s Open Call and related scouting initiative to the concept of COMMUNITY in all its forms."All in this together" is the title of the Open Call of the fifth edition of PVF.
👉What images stand as examples of connection, of the bond among human beings, of the sense of belonging to any form of community, responsibility, soli

‘New, New York’ the new photostory by @JefferyJones. ‘I wanted to focus on a time in New York where things were simple and a much slower pace. I thought about Norman Parkinson’s image taken in 1939 of these women in beautiful gowns with puff sleeves feeding birds. I love that photograph as it feels very documentary to me and I wanted to somehow modernize it. As well, birds are very much an important part of me, so I connected to this particular image. As well I’ve always loved the mystery behind photographer Christian Boltanski’s portraits. They are both haunting and engaging.’ See more via link in bio.
It’s Thursday and a new #vogueitaliapodcast curated by @PervincaBellini is waiting for you at the link in bio. This week’s podcast is dedicated to @JPGaultierofficial’s career in haute couture. The almost 200 looks sent out on the catwalk in January 2020 summarized all the creative flair and genius of Gaultier, capable of transforming a sponge into a fluffy evening dress, belts into a sexy minidress and putting corsets over a jacket. Above all, these outfits reminded us of his role as a pioneer of inclusiveness and gender fluidity, overthrowing beauty rules and stereotypes, in addition to his sartorial mastery.

‘Lighthouse’ is the new photostory by @Liza_Kanaeva_ about the human connection. ‘I feel like the topic of authentic human connection is very relevant in our technological age. This is not a fashion photography, by #VinceAletti.
Born in 1894, Jacques Henri Lartigue grew up with a camera in his hands; nearly all the photographs that made him famous in his seventies were taken before he was eighteen. At six or seven, he anticipated his future obsession, imagining he could capture images with his own “eye-trap”–“an invention straight from fairyland”–that would allow him to record and retain pictures in the blink of an eye. His father, Henri, an avid photographer who had already introduced Jacques to the mysteries of the darkroom, gave his son the first of many cameras a year or two later and, on the evidence of his remarkable output, he was rarely without it. With the stop-motion work of experimental photographic pioneers, Lartigue recorded the action and often instigated it. “I enjoy little mishaps,” like this shot of his cousin Simone Roussel tumbling off a homemade scooter, he wrote in his 1975 memoirs. “They happen quickly, but the photo preserves them.” Clearly, these marvelous ac
The contrast between wild, uncontaminated, artificial and domesticated is explored in the works of very different artists, such as @OlafBreuning, #ThomasDemand, @SimenJohan, @Sanna_Kannisto, #FlorianMaierAichen and #RichardMosse. They give us back images of invented ecosystems, altered perceptions and dreamlike visions - as if to underline how Nature, the actual one, is increasingly a mirage. And it's all our responsibility.

Instagram VS Reality. The brutal aesthetic of honesty is the one closest to Generation Z’s heart. @GigiHadid, born in 1995, has a second profile in which she only posts images taken with a disposable camera. It's called @gisposable, a mashup of the name Gigi and “disposable”, and currently only has about sixty posts. “New beauty standards are being defined”, admits Omega Centauri, the pseudonym of Adrian Steckeweh, architect, augmented reality professional and filter creator: “I don’t think banning surgery filters is enough: we should invest in education, in new standards and in self-esteem. My philosophy is to make AR tools without any ‘beautification features’. To stick to this principle, there’s a question I often ask myself: how can I create filters that make people feel good but without making them more beautiful? Filters should add something, without changing reality. I mean, you can feel beautiful even without perfect skin and bigger eyes”. Examples of this are, among other things, the stretch marks on
Tiny waist, a large butt with wide curvy hips, large full breasts, a small contoured nose, wide spaced cat-like eyes and full pouty lips: more and more people today want to look like their filtered photos. In our Real/Fake Issue of Vogue Italia @SamiraLarouci speaks about “Instagram face”, the cyber-organic ideal for which the dangerous aesthetic standards set by Instagram’s algorithms are transformed into reality.

The March Issue of Vogue Italia - on newsstands tomorrow.
“The intention behind creating Ida, Teresa, Helga, Anastasia, Stevie isn’t so much to point out that digital beauty obviously can’t replace real beauty, or that digital girls, in all their perfection, reveal how genuine perfection lies in the unique imperfection of each of us in flesh and blood. Instead, we wanted to offer a delicate and poetic portrayal of the incredible osmosis between these two worlds. Where reality pursues the filters of Instagram, and on Instagram we are conversely starting to see the emergence of a less artificial and more sincere, analogical reality. Where technology allows the creation of worlds that are so similar to the real world that, in reaction, there is a return to the desire to imagine alternative, fantastical other worlds. This entire issue looks at the fine line that divides reality

“As our March issue appears on newsstands, the streets of Milan are almost deserted. A contagious virus has spread in just a few hours, forcing the closure of museums, bars, schools and offices. For a currently unknown period of time, people will have to avoid physical social interaction and, if possible, stay at home. In a paradoxical twist, reality has now caught up with, and overtaken the idea that gave rise to the issue you are about to read. As a precaution or for security, out of paranoia, laziness or convenience, we live in an age where physical experiences are in fact discouraged, turning them into an increasingly rare occurrence. Nowadays it seems dispensable, or even hazardous, to see, touch and speak to each other without the mediation of a computer screen. But, we wondered, if real life becomes an existence filtered
